By now, almost everyone can make some kind of presentation with AI. You can dictate the idea, attach data and old slides, and explain who the deck is for: investors, leadership, clients, the team or potential buyers.

Then we ask for ten slides with a coherent story. And — surprise — we get ten slides with a coherent story. Occasionally even with titles that do not begin with “In today’s rapidly changing world”.

Why does an AI deck fall apart in PowerPoint?

Then the production drama begins. The font shifts. The title no longer fits. One line gains three words, so the composition quietly dies. The image crops through a face. The table decides it is the main character. The logo is tiny on one slide and practically a national emblem on the next.

You can hire a designer — often the right decision. But ten slides quickly become a meaningful budget and several rounds of approvals. For everyday proposals, internal reports and course materials, rebuilding the same visual logic every time is the expensive part.

AI has already built the structure.Now we only need the deck to stop looking as if ten different companies contributed one slide each.

What makes a presentation look like your brand?

I love the design of this website. In professional terms, it mixes editorial design, Swiss typography and soft neo-brutalism.

Here that means an oversized heavy grotesk, a contrasting italic serif, an asymmetric magazine grid, thin black rules, deliberately plain frames, a warm cream background and lavender and acid-lime accents. There are slight rotations and hard shadows — only where they earn their keep.

It is not pure brutalism, which would feel harsher and colder. This system is more feminine, intellectual and editorial. I called it Goodwill Editorial.

What does an AI visual skill need?

You can describe the visual system once and turn it into a skill for Codex, Claude Code or another agent that can follow instruction files. Then every prompt no longer needs to explain that lavender marks an idea, lime marks an action and italics do not appear simply because they look “pretty”.

A good skill is not a file that says “use Arial, Georgia and these four colours”. It needs:

  1. Brand character. The impression it should create — and what it should never become.
  2. Hierarchy. What becomes enormous, what stays a caption and how the slide reads in three seconds.
  3. Composition modes. A cover, explanation, quote, number, checklist, photograph and final call to action need different structures.
  4. Text rules. Correct language, sensible line breaks, density limits and the brand’s voice.
  5. Anti-examples. Random gradients, decorative noise, five identical glass cards and italics with no purpose.
  6. Quality checks. Is anything cropped? Is the point visible? Does the tone match? Can the file still be edited?

What can an on-brand presentation prompt look like?

A prompt cannot replace the system, but it can frame the work properly:

I have a rough 10-slide presentation and the materials below.

Goal: [what should happen after the audience sees it].
Audience: [investors / leadership / clients / team].
What they already know: [...].
What the deck must prove: [...].

First propose the story and the role of every slide.
Do not invent facts or numbers. List missing evidence separately.

After approval, build an editable presentation using our visual skill
and brand materials.

Before delivery, check:
— consistency of titles and spacing;
— text overflow;
— readability of tables and captions;
— correct fonts and characters;
— whether every slide belongs to one system.

When do you still need a designer?

For a public company’s annual report or an investment round, a designer may still be the best answer. For recurring proposals, internal reports, courses, talks and first versions, a visual skill removes the costly routine: inventing the logic again and manually putting back everything that moved.

You can use Goodwill Editorial as a working skill or as a structural reference. Add your brand book and existing decks, then ask the agent to build a system with the same depth for your own style — not a copy of my colours, but your rules for making decisions.
